Discover the autumn stars

MILANVILLE, PA — There will be an autumn sky watch to explore the stars, planets and galaxies on Friday, September 22 from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Delaware Highlands Conservancy’s Butterfly Barn Nature Center, on River Road one mile south of the Skinners Falls bridge.

Amateur astronomers will share telescopes and sky charts to view deep space objects, clouds of gas and light and galaxies thousands of light years away. Naturalist Bill Yeaman will tell stories about the stars, constellations and planets, and help you find their locations. Yeaman managed the planetarium in Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C., and knows which of the brightest stars act as signposts to the rest of the sky.

This program is open to the public and is free. The rain date is Saturday, September 23.
