Liberty Free helps celebrate month of peace
LIBERTY, NY The Liberty Free Theatre will present Goods and Guns, an evening of poetry and comedy, as its contribution to the month-long celebration of peace and non-violence sponsored by Sullivan County Peace and Justice. It will play for four performances, Thursday, September 28 though Sunday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m.
This marks the debut of the Free Theatre Workshop Group, which is in training at the Liberty Free Theatre. The show, compiled and arranged by Cynthia O. Toliver in collaboration with the group, also features original comedy material written by Toliver.
Goods and Guns is an explosive and comic inquiry into buying, selling, making war and the longing for peace, a series of fast-moving episodes from cocktails at home to the fragrance of the last lime in war-torn Iraq. It features performances by Mike Frizalone, Valeria Henry, Valerie Mansi, James Sullivan, Kyrce Swenson, and Cynthia O. Toliver.
Performances are free but seating is limited and reservations are suggested. The audience is invited to gather after the performance for food, drink and music. The theatre is located at 109 South Main Street, Liberty.
