Artists in Harmony

CALKINS CREEK, PA—The Harmony Project is a grass-roots initiative that aims to get people talking and thinking about concepts essential to communal harmony, suc as gratitude, acceptance and compassion. It has marshaled the resources of local artists to produce an exhibit, “Reflections of Respect,” representing artists’ visions of respect. The exhibit will debut at FANfair, a celebration of the arts to be held on Sunday, October 8 at Calkins Creek Vineyard on Fallsdale Road from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It includes media of all kinds, from posters to textile work to calligraphy.

The Harmony Project intends to take the exhibit on tour following its presentation at FANfair.

Rustic for the home

Kids crafts, market goodies and quality handcrafted art

BETHEL, NY—This Sunday, September 24, the Harvest Festival at Bethel Woods will specialize in crafts made for the home, featuring wood carvings, handmade furniture, pottery and all kinds of decorative accessories and accents.

Musical entertainment this week will be provided by the Rausch Brothers. Mallachy McCourt will be on hand to sign books. Scarecrow voting has begun, and visitors can register their favorite choice at the welcome tent.

Liberty Free helps celebrate month of peace

LIBERTY, NY—The Liberty Free Theatre will present “Goods and Guns,” an evening of poetry and comedy, as its contribution to the month-long celebration of peace and non-violence sponsored by Sullivan County Peace and Justice. It will play for four performances, Thursday, September 28 though Sunday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m.

This marks the debut of the Free Theatre Workshop Group, which is in training at the Liberty Free Theatre. The show, compiled and arranged by Cynthia O. Toliver in collaboration with the group, also features original comedy material written by Toliver.
