Beloved youth soccer coach succumbs to cancer

CALLICOON CENTER, NY — Lenny Miret, a beloved youth soccer coach, husband and father, passed away on September 11 after a five-year battle with cancer. Miret, 38, who worked for Federal Express, was a strong youth advocate and a wonderful coach who devoted his time to area kids in AYSO soccer and to the Sullivan West soccer teams.

His incredible spirit and love of sports were an inspiration to all of those who had the privilege to know him.

Miret is survived by his wife, Cathleen, and their three children, Caitlin, Lenny and Patrick; his mother Elizabeth Miret; his father Leonard Miret; his sister Betty Ann Miret; his mother in law Helen Mullally and father in law Tim Mullally.

A wake will be held at the Stewart-Murphy funeral home in Jeffersonville on September 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. George’s Roman Catholic Church in Jeffersonville at 11:00 a.m. on September 15.
