A salute to Sullivan County firefighters
ROCK HILL, NYOn Saturday, September 16, Sullivan County will have the opportunity to celebrate its volunteer fire fighting companies at the 78th annual Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association (SCVFA) parade.
The event is a half-day affair, with the parade—including representation from fire departments all around the county as well as a variety of auxiliaries and marching bands—stepping off at 3:00 p.m. The band Phillip the Meatbox will provide entertainment from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and an awards ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m.
The countys new fire prevention and sprinkler demonstration trailer will be on site after the parade. Fireworks at dusk, sponsored by the Town of Thompson, will bring the celebration to a festive conclusion.
