Sawyer Brown to headline at Mighty M

MONTICELLO, NY — Sawyer Brown, often called the Rolling Stones of country music, will headline at Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway on Saturday, September 2.

Since the mid-1980s, Sawyer Brown has had more than 20 Top 10 hits and sold millions of albums. The band was Vocal Band of the Year for six years straight with the TNN Awards, earned ACM honors as Top Vocal Group and garnered a CMA Horizon Award out of the gate in 1985.

The group’s appearance at Mighty M is all a part of Thunderjam, the conclusion of Thunder 102’s summer concert series.

Other groups will perform before Sawyer Brown, with the highlight on local talent. Simply Noted, a group created from Thunder 102 listeners who called in to audition, will make its debut at the event.

Doors open at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are available through Ticket Master and Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway. Cook-Lamborn, comprised of Sullivan County natives who played earlier this summer at Thunderfest, will also perform, as will the Carl Richards Band, also Thunderfest veterans, and Somerville, who not only played Thunderfest but are currently making it big in Nashville. They played on the grounds of the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts last month shortly before Brad Paisley took to the main stage.
