HONESDALE, PA — Just when people started to think that there was no more affordable housing in Wayne and Pike counties,Pa, and Sullivan County, NY, the Wayne County Arts Alliance’s bird house auction came along. The most expensive, the birdhouse that has been on display on the Highlights for Children property, went for over $1,000. (They bought it). Others went for between $100 to $200, and more, with financing available. Even those who went home empty handed had a good time, and Bob Mermel, shown here with helpers, did his usual great job as an auctioneer.
