‘Paradise New York’

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — Eileen Pollack, an award-winning novelist, short story writer and essayist, will read from her novel “Paradise New York” and several other works at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22 at the Seelig Theatre of Sullivan County Community College.

Kirkus Reviews describes “Paradise New York” as a “finely crafted first novel detailing the journey to wisdom of a young woman who grew up in a Borscht Belt hotel.”

Pollack has been awarded two Pushcart prizes, a Rona Jaffe Foundation Award for literary non-fiction, a fiction fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and a Michener Fellowship from the University of Iowa.

After the reading, books will be available for sale and signing by the author and refreshments will be served. The reading and discussion are an extension of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance’s “Writers Among Us” series and 30th anniversary celebration. Admission costs $3.
