A celebration of Forestburgh

FORESTBURGH, NY — There will be a day of events celebrating Forestburgh at the Forestburgh Fire House on Saturday, August 19. A driving tour of 12 historic sites, with refreshments, will start at 8:45 a.m., with another leaving at 9:30 a.m. Reservations are required; call 845/794-0611.

At 11:00 a.m., historical re-enactors will perform demonstrations at the log cabin located at the town hall, and from `12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. there will be artisans, quilts, demonstrations, exhibits, games and activities for the kids and exotic animals. Historian John Conway will give a history of Forestburgh at 1:00 p.m., and there will be live music by Forestburgh artists from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. The fire department will sponsor a chicken barbeque from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Tickets cost $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under, with children four and under free.
