Celebrating our bounty

YOUNGSVILLE, NY — This weekend will see the launch a new festival celebrating anything and everything that is grown, created and produced in Sullivan County, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13 at the Cutting Garden at 4055 Route 52.

With more than 20 vendors, the festival, sponsored by the owners of The Cutting Garden, will feature organic flowers and vegetables, quilts, pottery, jewelry, paintings, photos, fabric, woodwork and more. There will be gardening advice available from several plant experts. Adrianne Picciano, The Dirt Diva, will offer information about seed saving, heirloom plants and non-toxic garden care. Master Gardener Will Conway will lead folks through the garden and offer general gardening advice. Floral designer and Earth Girl Jill Wiener will demonstrate flower arranging.

As a special treat on Sunday, the Youngsville 4-H kids will do a demonstration on how to make felt balls with wool from local sources.
