Playoffs set for high school basketball at SCCC

Top seeds Downsville and Livingston Manor earn top seeds with 6-1 records

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY - As the brief summer league basketball season reaches its final week at Sullivan County Community College, the six ladies’ teams will vie for the tournament championship that begins on August 8 with match ups featuring third-seeded Eldred (3-4) versus sixth-seeded Tri-Valley (1-6) in the early game at 6:00 p.m. The late game pits fifth-seeded Roscoe (2-5) versus fourth-seeded Liberty (3-4). Downsville and Manor have byes in the first round.

Play resumes on August 10 as Livingston Manor hosts the winner of the Roscoe-Liberty fray, while Downsville will play the nightcap versus the survivor of the Eldred-Tri-Valley game.

The championship game is slated for August 11 at 7:00 p.m.

In final week action of the regular season, Downsville defeated Roscoe 57-19, while Eldred edged Liberty 33-32.

Livingston Manor continued its run with a 40-24 victory over Tri-Valley.
