Riverdog parade bow wows for second straight year

NARROWSBURG, NY Upward of 20 dogs regaled in costumes appropriate for a grand ball paraded down Main Street before ogling onlookers and judges. The parade was led by Grand Marshals Kevin and Kay McDonough with their pugs Pete the Riverdude and Peggy the Love Pug.
Arlena Lawrence coordinated the canine cavorting for the second straight year. Treats were provided for all the contestants, and prizes from Kristina Weiss of Good Cheer Gifts and Grooming in Honesdale came courtesy of donations made by Stanley Siegel and Sheldon Soffer.
Winners included Dixie for Best in Show, owned by Josie Kent of Narrowsburg; Muffin, a shitsu owned by Nadege Hoper of Shohola, PA for most creative costume as bride and groom; and Tyson, an American bulldog owned by Bob Pizall of North Branch for funniest costume. Runners up included Buddha, a huge golden retriever owned by Michael DAllesandro of Cochecton decked out as a construction worker; and Gizmo, a Tibetan spaniel mix owned by Cindy Burkle of Narrowsburg.
