Celtic Tenors at Wildflower
WHITE MILLS, PA The Celtic Tenors bring their precision harmonies to the Wildflower Music Festival at the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29.
Following an impromptu audition in London in 2000, the Celtic Tenors were signed on the spot to an international record dealan event so unprecedented that it soon became the talk of the music industry. Their debut album went immediately to number 2 in the UK classical charts, and to number 1 in Ireland and Germany, where it is two times platinum. It won the Echo Award (The German Grammy) for Best Classical Crossover Album in 2002 and was a top-ten Billboard album in the U.S.
When the tenors sang for ex-President Bill Clinton during his recent visit to Dublin Castle, funding-raising for the Northern Ireland Peace Fund, he said their version of his favorite song, Danny Boy, was the best he had ever heard.
Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and pack a picnic to enjoy the setting. Picnics may also be ordered in advance from Jills Kitchen, Narrowsburg, NY or Settlers Inn, Hawley, PA. Beverages will be for sale on the sanctuary grounds.
In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be held at the air-conditioned auditorium at the Wallenpaupack Area High School.
This performance is sponsored by Trails End Camp. General admission tickets are $15 each.
