Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival set to return

HONESDALE, PA — The Greater Honesdale Partnership and the Wayne County Arts Alliance have set a date of Saturday, June 23, 2007 for the second annual Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival, to be held in Central Park.

With support from local businesses and the community, the inaugural festival held on Saturday, June 24 was a huge success, with 2,500 to 3,000 people attending throughout the day.

The “Roots & Rhythm” Committee has already begun strategic planning for next year’s event and anticipates that 2007’s festival will be “bigger & better.” It is co-chaired by festival founders Gail Tucker of the Greater Honesdale Partnership and John Rocklin of the Wayne County Arts Alliance, with supporting committee members Jeff George, John Lawson, Brian Fulp, Fred Bergren, Jim Sampson, Leslie and Pat Dennis, Ben Tucker, Jamie Stunkard, Deborah Bailey, Ellen Silberlicht, Tara Singhi and Ginny Buckley.
