A family rafting expedition
SKINNERS FALLS, NY The Upper Delaware Council (UDC) will hold its 18th annual Family Raft Trip on Sunday, August 6. Reservations are requested by July 28.
This years float trip features a 10-mile segment of the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River between Skinners Falls in the Town of Cochecton and Ten Mile River Landing in the Town of Tusten. The host livery is Landers River Trips.
Rafters should park and check in starting at 10:00 a.m. at Landers Skinners Falls base, located off New York State Route 97, approximately five miles north of Narrowsburg or 10 miles south of Callicoon, and directly across the river from Milanville on the Pennsylvania side.
Rafts, paddles, life vests and continuous shuttle transportation from the Ten Mile River Landing at the end of the trip are all provided. Safety instructions and a river orientation will be given prior to the morning launch from the Skinners Falls Base. Average rafting time is two miles per hour, depending on river levels, wind and each groups desired pace.
The UDCs discounted cost is $19 for adults and $10 for children ages 5 through 12.
