WALTER L. BROOME
SMALLWOOD, NY Walter L. Broome died Monday, July 3, 2006 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 81.
The son of the late Walter Livingston and Sarah Earley Broom, he was born on December 16, 1924 in Brooklyn.
A retired life insurance salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Broome served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a life-member of the Sgt. Andrew Brucher Post #5499 V.F.W. in White Lake and was also a member of Bethel Senior Citizens, AARP Bethel and the Smallwood/Mongaup Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
Broome is survived by a sister, Violet B. Geiss of Skaneateles; three nieces, Patricia E. Wagner, Pamela J. Murray and Priscilla R. Geiss; and a nephew.
He was predeceased by a brother, William J. Broome; a sister, Elizabeth Fallon; and a nephew
Services were held on Friday, July 7, 2006 at Evergreen Cemetery.

WILLIAM H. BOUCHER
LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY Dr. William H. Boucher died on July 8, 2006.
Born on April 30, 1925 in Lake Huntington, Boucher attended elementary and high schools in the Catskills. He served in the Naval Air Corps from 1943 to 1945. After the war he attended West Chester State Teachers College, graduating in 1948 with a BA in education, and later earned a masters degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania.
Boucher taught mathematics at Mount Pleasant High School in Wilmington, DE for 35 years. His influence as a teacher and mentor was so great that one of his former students, James Griffin, established an academic chair in Bouchers honor at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.
Bouchers community service and philanthropy was considerable. He donated land for the new Sullivan West high school in Lake Huntington and served on numerous boards. He is survived by his wife, Tania K. Boucher; his children; William H. Boucher Jr. of Lake Huntington, Pamela B. McCarty of Bristol, RI and Joshua C. Boucher of Centreville, DE. Boucher also had four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 100 Old Kennett Rd., Centerville, DE on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 3:00 pm. A Family Greeting will be held, with refreshments, following the service in the Church Social Hall. An extended graveside service will be held for family and friends at 1:30 p.m. on Monday July 17, 2006 at the United Methodist Church of Fosterdale Cemetery in Lake Huntington.
CECELIA MCANDREW CAFFERY
EQUINUNK, PA Cecelia McAndrew Caffery died Thursday, July 6 following an illness at Ascera Care Hospice at Mid-Valley Hospital in Peckville. She was 74.
The daughter of the late James McCabe and Cecelia Runyon, she was born in Fairlawn, NJ.
A graduate of Hawley High School, Caffery was a retired food services supervisor at Horton Hospital of Middletown, NY. She was Roman Catholic.
Caffery is survived by three daughters, Cecelia McAndrew Baldwin of Equinunk, Maureen Scala of Waterloo, NY and Darlene Davis of Otisville, NY; two sons, James J. McAndrew of Pinebush, NY and Edward J. McAndrew of Hawley; a brother, Walter McCabe; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Services will be held at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at BVM Queen of Peace Cemetery in Hawley.
AUGUST CHRIS DECRISTOFORO JR
HAWLEY, PA August Chris DeCristoforo Jr. died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at home. He was 59.
The son of August DeCristoforo Sr. and the late Edith Meschino DeCristoforo, he was born April 30, 1947 in the Bronx.
DeCristoforo was a foreman of New Jersey Transit, Port Jervis. He also served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Sickles DeCristoforo at home; his father, August DeCristoforo of St. Petersburg, FL; a son, Michael DeCristoforo of Bethesda, MD; four daughters, Dianna Guacci and husband Anthony of Selden, NY, Amber Bedell and husband John of Chestertown, MD, Maryellen Mattot of Las Vegas, NV and Joann Carbone of West Palm, FL; one sister, Edith DeCristoforo of Lakeville; one stepson, Harry E. Williams and his fiancée Kelly of Port Jervis, NY; three stepdaughters, Ginni Gushue and her fiancé John of Sparrowbush, NY, Kathleen Williams and her fiancé Gabriel of Port Jervis, NY and Elizabeth Williams and her fiancé Pat of New Tripoli; 13 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and four nieces.
Services were held on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Port Jervis, NY.
Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Andville, PA.

ANTHONY J. TONY GOETKE
ELDRED, NY Anthony J. Tony Goetke died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at St. Vincents Hospital & Medical Center, Manhattan, NY. He was 77.
The son of the late Anthony and Amelia Elenberger Goetke, he was born on January 6, 1929 in Queens.
Goetke was a retired firefighter of FDNY Ladder Co. 111 and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a member of St. Anthonys Church of Padua, Yulan, Highland Seniors, Holy Names Society, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post No. 1404, Tusten-Highland V.F.W. Post No. 6427 and the Emerald Society of the NYC Fire Department.
Goetke is survived by a son, Anthony Goetke and his wife Diane of Rexford; three daughters, Anne ONeill and her husband Sean of Hawthorne, NJ, Mary McEneaney and her husband John of Broad Channel and June Hallock and her husband Scott of Highland Lake; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Dresch Goetke.
Funeral services were held on July 12, 2006 at St. Anthonys Church of Padua, Yulan with the Rev. Anthony Moore officiating.
Interment will take place at St. Anthonys Cemetery, Eldred, NY.

RANDY L. HUTSON
MONTAGUE, NJ Randy L. Hutson died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was 47.
The son of Marion Gill Hailey, he was born February 23, 1959 in Denver, CO.
Hutson retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch #229.
He is survived by his wife, Mareva Babcock Hutson of Montague; two daughters, Ashley and Mary of Montague; his mother, Marion Hailer of Edgewater, CO; three brothers, Ross Hailey and his wife Renee of Littleton, CO, Bob Hailey and his wife Kelli of Brighton, CO and David Hailey of Edgewater, CO; two sisters, Paula Hutson of Edgewater, CO and Deborah Tollison of Buckeye, AZ; a brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Susan Ewbank and their children, Caryn and Bryan Jr. of Westfall, PA; a sister-in-law, Melissa Herman and her daughter Olivia of Yulan, NY; a brother-in-law, Roland Babcock of Montague; a mother-in-law, Patricia Babcock of Montague; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Roland W. Babcock; and by his maternal grandfather, Lawrence Gill.

MARY A. MOAK
MARION, OH Mary A. Moak of Marion died on Wednesday, June 7, 2006. She was 88.
The daughter of the late Daniel and Bertha (Bellamy) Olver, she was born on May 15, 1918 in Beach Lake, PA.
A homemaker and Jehovahs Witness, Moak attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses.
She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn S. Davis of Marion, Ann M. (Larry) Smith of Ashely and Joyce A. Williams of Sarasota, FL; two sisters, Blanche Powers of Garwood, NJ and Ruth Loomis of Honesdale, PA; and five grandchildren.
Moak was predeceased by her husband, Harry S. Moak Jr., and four brothers, Russell, Carl, Daniel and Emmons Oliver.
Interment will take place at Marion Cemetery.
DORIS C. ROLSTON
DAMASCUS, PA Doris C. Rolston died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at St. Josephs Place at the Bon Secours Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. She was 83.
The daughter of the late Lanty and Mae Wood Coulter, she was born on July 31, 1922 in Fallsdale.
A graduate of Port Jervis High School, Rolston attended Ryder University for one year and was a retired bookkeeper for the R.C. Lain Insurance Company in Port Jervis. She was a former member of the 1st Baptist Church, Port Jervis, a member of the Calkins Union Church and a former Girl Scouts assistant leader.
She is survived by her husband, Roy W. Rolston; a son, Roy W. Rolston Jr. and his wife Theresa of Tyler Hill; and nieces and nephews.
Rolston was predeceased by three sisters, Helen Trad, Evelyn Loven and Laura Bartels; and a brother, Kenneth Coulter.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

EDWARD J. SCHULTZ
COCHECTON, NY Edward J. Schultz died Friday, July 7, 2006. He was 65.
The son of the late Clarence and Marie Frazer Schultz, he was born June 17, 1941 in Callicoon.
A retired Prudential Insurance agent, Schultz was the owner of Cricket Hill Golf Club. He was a member of the Cochecton Mens Club where he served as secretary and was the current president, past secretary for the Lake Huntington Cochecton Fire District, parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Past Grand Knight of Delaware Council 4478 Knights of Columbus, and a member of Lake Huntington Cochecton Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hubert Schultz at home; one sister, Mary Konig and husband Al of East Meadow; two nephews, Joe and Bill Konig; three nieces, Katherine, Laura and Maggie Konig; his mother-in-law, Florence Hubert; six brothers-in-law and their wives; four sisters-in-law and their husbands; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Monday, July 10, 2006 at Our Lady of the Lake RC Church, Lake Huntington, with the Reverends William Scully, Bill Konig and Ignatius Smith officiating.
Interment will take place at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Narrowsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Cochecton Mens Club or the charity of the donors choice.
