Lacawac kids’ program at the pond

LAKE WALLENPAUPACK — Think frogs and lily pads are the only things you’ll find at the pond? On Thursday, July 13 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, Lacawac Sanctuary will host Nature Detectives: Morning at the Pond. Bring the kids and investigate the mysterious creatures that call the pond home.

This program is designed for children and their parents/caregivers. At least one adult must accompany every two children. Pre-registration is required by July 10. Donation per child is $3 for members and $5 for non-members.

Lacawac Sanctuary is a 510-acre nature preserve and historic site offering environmental and historical programs, and hiking trails. Lacawac is also offering free, informative tours of its historic buildings and glacial lake every Wednesday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday at 11:00 a.m., through September.
