JAMIE L. D. BERTHOLF
LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY Jamie L. D. Bertholf of Livingston Manor died Thursday, June 29, 2006 in Livingston Manor. She was 15.
The daughter of Robert J. Bertholf and Patricia L. Benton Parks, she was born on October 12, 1990 in Harris.
An 11th grade student at Livingston Manor Central School, Bertholf was an ambassador for the Sullivan County Dairy Association and a leader in training at the Frost Valley Y.M.C.A.
She is survived by her parents, Robert and Patricia at home; a brother, Anthony Bertholf of Livingston Manor; her maternal grandparents, Wallace and Mary Benton of Livingston Manor; two half brothers, Fred Parks of Connecticut and Robert II of Kauneonga Lake; three half sisters, Mary Edwards of Youngsville, Lisa Bertholf of New Jersey and Lori Tessyman of Hankins; several aunts, uncles and cousins; two nephews; and one niece.
Services were held on Monday, July 3 at the Harris Funeral Home in Liberty with Monsignor William Collins officiating.
ROBERT BERUBE
SUMMERFIELD, FL Robert Berube, former resident of Callicoon, NY, died Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Summerfield Suites in Summerfield. He was 61.
Born in Bellows Falls, VT, he was a resident of Callicoon before moving to Summerville in 1993.
Berube is survived by his wife, Lynne Berube of Summerfield; two daughters, Bonnie Schlott of Narrowsburg, NY and Lauren Fisher of Copenhagen, NY; one son, Robert E. Berube Jr. of Lynn; three brothers, Gene Berube of Spring Valley, Joe Berube of Ocala and James Berube of Connecticut; two sisters, Louisa Alexiades, of Hopedale, MA and Patricia Killian of Carlisle, PA; and eight grandchildren.

WILLIAM FEINSTEIN
BETHEL, NY William Feinstein of Bethel died Saturday, July 1, 2006 in St. Clairs Hospital of Dover, NJ. He was 75.
The son of Jack and Mary Baum Feinstein, he was born on May 16, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY.
A retired forty-year owner and operator of Sample Service Corp. in Long Island City, Feinstein later worked as a merchandising representative for the Topps Meat Company. An avid golfer, he was a member of Grossingers Golf Club and, later, the Villa Roma. He also served as a cook in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon at home; three daughters, Judy Chatowitz and her husband Ben of Highland Park, NJ, Jackie Kelin and her husband, Lisa Feinstein and her husband Alan; three grandchildren, Mira Chanowitz, Avital Kelin and David Kelin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and grandnephew.
Services were held on Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel, NY.
KENNIE C. HARDENBURGH
LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY Kennie C. Hardenburgh died Friday, June 30, 2006 at his home. He was 82.
The son of the late Burr C. and Ella Lindsay Hardenburgh, he was born on September 12, 1923 in Craig-E-Claire.
A lifelong area resident, Hardenburgh was a retired operating engineer with Local #187.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Willich Hardenburgh at home; three sons, Glenn Hardenburgh and his wife Shelia of Jefferson, James Hardenburgh and his wife Mary of DeFuniak Springs, FL and Timothy Hardenburgh and his wife June of Narrowsburg; two daughters, Virginia Daus and her husband John of Forestburgh and Penny Roach and her husband Steve of Bethel; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services and burial were held Monday, July 3 in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY with the Rev. Robert W. Hoag officiating.
MURIEL B. MAHADY
PORT JERVIS, NY Muriel B. Mahady died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at home. She was 88.
The daughter of the late Medwell and Grace Chase Brown, she was born on March 21, 1918 in Boston, MA.
A graduate of the Katherine Gibbs Business School of Boston, Mahady was a retired banker with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
She is survived by two sons, Brian Mahady and his wife Connie of Cape Cod, MA and Warren Mahady of Cape Cod, MA; two daughters, Margaret Jochim and her husband Bill of New York City and Kathryn Pierce and her husband Tracy of Glen Spey; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mahady was predeceased by her husband, Warren E. Mahady; and her daughter, Lois Cuebas- Mahady.
Services were held Sunday, July 2 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home of Port Jervis with the Rev. Betsy Diver officiating.
Interment will be at Glen Spey Cemetery, Glen Spey, NY.
CHRISTINE (BUDDENHAGEN) VANVARICK
WOODRIDGE, NY Christine (Buddenhagen) VanVarick died on Wednesday, June 28, 2006. She was 55.
She worked as a claims representative at Frontier Insurance Company, then Blue Cross Blue Shield, in Middletown.
VanVarick is survived by a daughter, Kristen Janice; two sons, Robert VanVarick and his wife, Arlene, and Cody John; a granddaughter, Brittney Abby Joy; her mother-in-law, Mary Francis VanVarick of Damascus, PA; two sisters, Barbara Larger and Janice Buddenhagen and their husbands; and many cousins and best friends.
A celebration of VanVaricks life will be held at a later date.
DOROTHY ELIZABETH YOUNG
SPARROWBUSH, NY Dorothy Elizabeth Young died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. She was 64.
Daughter of the late William and Margaret Saunders DeGroat, she was born October 22, 1941.
Former member of the Ladys Auxiliary of the Greenville V.F.W., Young worked for many years as a bartender at the Greenville V.F.W. Memorial Post.
She is survived by five sons, John Kientopp and his wife Karieann of Sparrowbush, James Kientopp and his wife Ramona of Pompton Lakes, NJ, Richard Craig and his wife Terri of Highland Lake, NJ, Fredrick Barbig of Lincoln Park, NJ, and Steven Kientopp and his companion Shirley Williams of Sparrowbush; a brother, James DeGroat of Pompton Lakes, NJ; a sister, Margaret Delano of New Jersey; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Miland Duke Young; her son, William Kientopp; and a brother, Stephen DeGroat.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Cremation will take place at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.
