Triad Dance ensemble Summer 2006

HIGHLAND LAKE, NY - This summer, Triad celebrates 15 years of life in Sullivan County with two performances of “Bones & Dreams,” a theatrical collection of dance, music and spoken word on July 16. The show will feature new works choreographed by Karen MacIntyre, Daria Miano and Loretta Thomas, which will weave the words of poets Mary Greene and Freddie Jones together with the music of flutist Pattie Capobianco.

“Bones & Dreams” will be followed by a reading of MacIntyre’s “Larger than Life,” a new musical play about growing up in small-town America during the 1960s. “Bones & Dreams” will be presented in two parlor performances at Highland Yoga and Dance, on Sunday July 16 at 4:00 and 7:00 pm. Admission is $10 adult/$5 student ($8/$4 advance sale). Seating is limited, so early reservations are suggested.

Triad will continue to present its Thursday Workshop series through July 27. The series offers classes in hip-hop for children age seven to ten from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., and modern dance for students aged 11 to adult from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A classical ballet class for students aged 11 to adult will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, July 15, guest artist Loretta Thomas will teach a master class in the technique of modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan.

Tuition for the Thursday series or classical ballet is $50 for the five-class series, or $12 per class; and the Duncan master class is $15.

Call Triad at 845/557-3483 for reservations, registration and information.
