Sullivan West budget approved

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Voters in the Sullivan West School District voted to approve the budget Tuesday after turning down the original budget in May. The vote was 958 to 738, not including affidavit votes.

The budget stands at $31.9 million, after being trimmed from $32.19 million. The cuts did away with drivers’ education, an after-school program and elementary summer school.

The budget now calls for a tax increase of between 5.5 and 5.8 percent.
