WHITE LAKE, NY — It’s early summer, and that means it’s inn cabaret season at the Bradstan Country Hotel again. Cabaret stars from all over the country come to perform in the intimate environs of the Nancy LaMott Room, located in the grand old building on the shores of White Lake. Here, for twelve consecutive Sundays from June to September, visitors can put the concluding touch on their summer weekends by sipping a cocktail or savoring a dessert while listening to some of the best that cabaret has to offer.

For the opening weekend, renowned Chicago based singer/songwriter Susan Werner makes her debut appearance at the Bradstan. A breakthrough composer and performer in the mid 90’s, Werner has toured with luminaries including Joan Armatrading and Richard Thompson. She also appeared on the Peter, Paul and Mary Lifelines special seen nationally on PBS. Her 2002 release, “New Non Fiction,” received numerous accolades for its insightful social commentary and introspective stories. The Boston Herald said, “If the Grammy folks knew what they were doing, it would be near the top of the list in next year’s Contemporary Folk category.”

Werner has a live performance reputation as one of the most compelling performers on the circuit, and hearing her in the small, intimate setting of the Nancy LaMott Room ought to be a rare treat.
