SARA BETH ABRAMOWITZ
PORT JERVIS, NY Sara Beth Abramowitz, a lifelong area resident, died Friday, June 2, 2006 in the Town of Deerpark. She was 17.
The daughter of Frederick Abramowitz and Amy Wheeler Cohen, she was born September 1, 1988 in Goshen.
Sara was a student at Port Jervis High School. She was employed at McDonalds restaurant in Montague, NJ.
She is survived by her father, Frederick Abramowitz and his wife Dena of Walden; her mother, Amy Beth Cohen and her husband Melvyn of Port Jervis; a brother, Michael Abramowitz at home; her dear friend, Norean Coral DiToto, at home; her paternal grandfather, David Abramowitz of Chester; her maternal grandmother, Hope Wheeler of Warwick; her boyfriend, Jesse Snyder of Sparrowbush; and several uncles and cousins.
Services were held on Wednesday, June 7 at St. Marys R.C. Church in Port Jervis with the Reverend Dennis Dinan officiating.
Interment is in Warwick Cemetery in Warwick.

STEPHANIE MARIE CONKLIN
PORT JERVIS, NY Stephanie Marie Conklin died Friday, June 2, 2006 in the Town of Deerpark. She was 18.
The daughter of David W. Conklin and Sherri L. Topel Conklin, she was born February 27, 1988 in Port Jervis.
Stephanie was a student at Port Jervis High School. She was an honor student at Orange-Ulster BOCES in Goshen where she was preparing to complete the business and Microsoft computer program. She was accepted and planned to attend SUNY Orange Hartwell College in the fall. She was a cashier at McDonalds Restaurant in Montague, NJ as well as a cashier at K-Mart in Westfall, PA.
She is survived by her parents, Sherri and David Conklin at home; a sister, Teresa Conklin of Lake George; her paternal grandmother, Edna Conklin of Huguenot; her maternal grandmother, Muriel Topel of Milford, PA; her loving friend, Sean Donnelly of Sparrowbush; several aunts, uncles and cousins from surrounding areas; and many special friends.
Services were held on Thursday, June 6 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home with the Reverend Ben Willis officiating.
Interment is in the Rural Valley Cemetery in Cuddebackville.

KATHLEEN KATIE DECKER (SCHOLZ)
PORT JERVIS, NY Kathleen Katie Decker (Scholz) a lifelong area resident, died Friday, June 2, 2006 in the Town of Deerpark. She was 18.
The daughter of Willi and Jody Decker Scholz, she was born July 16, 1987 in Port Jervis, NY.
Kathleen was a student at Port Jervis High School. She was a member of the Port Jervis School Girls Basketball team and a member of the Peer Leaders. She was attending the Cosmetology Program at BOCES. She worked as a cashier for Shop-Rite Food Store in Montague, NJ.
A family statement reads: Katie was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter and niece. She was our angel.
She is survived by her parents, Willi and Jody Decker Scholz at home; her brother, Willi Cody Scholz at home; her maternal grandparents, Oliver and Kathleen Decker of Cuddebackville; her loving boyfriend, Bert Eagle; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services were held on Thursday, June 6 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home in Port Jervis.
Interment is in Rural Valley Cemetery in Cuddebackville.
VICKIE S. GEORGE
MATAMORAS, PA Vickie S. George, a resident of Matamoras, died Wednesday, May 17 at home. She was an assistant manager for Bartco Penn Petroleum, Matamoras. She was 51.
The daughter of Arthur J. and Gertrude (DeYoung) George, she was born on February 7, 1955 in East Stroudsburg.
She is survived by her husband, Beryle B. Herman Jr.; her father, Arthur J. George of Columbia, NJ; a step-father, Arthur Whitsell of Greeley; a son, Michael Herman at home; a daughter, Becky Herman at home; a stepson, Beryl Herman III of Monroe, NY; a step-daughter, Michelle Wojtunik, of Monroe, NY; three grandchildren; four sisters, Kathy George of Meridan, CT, Gayle Gross of Divide, CO, Debbie Ross of Pen Argyl and Pamela Gueng of Paupack; two brothers, Paul Whitesell of Jersey Shore and Brian Whitesell of Lake Wallenpaupack; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, David George.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday, May 24 at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St. in Milford. The Reverend Angelo Forleo officiated. Cremation was at H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg, PA.
CAROLINE DELORES MANZI
MONGAUP VALLEY, NY Caroline Delores Manzi, a 60-year area resident, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 86.
The daughter of the late John and Santa Costanzo Semioli, she was born in Brooklyn on August 28, 1919.
Manzi married John J. Manzi at St. Michaels Church in Brooklyn on September 8, 1940. While her husband served in World War II she took a job at Remington in Bridgeport, CT making 30 caliber bullets.
When her husband was discharged they moved to the Mongaup Valley. She worked as a practical nurse, initially at the Old Monticello Hospital at the Community General Hospital (now the Catskill Regional Medical Center). She was a member of St. Josephs Church in Mongaup Valley.
A family statement says: To all, she was a role model for what a woman and family could be: hardworking, dedicated to loved ones, interested in helping those in need and aware that the simple things matter most. And for those she loved, she was there unconditionally.
She is survived by three sons, John and his wife Sharon of Mongaup Valley, Gerard and his wife Joanne of Narrowsburg, and Gary and his wife Irva of Kingston; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and countless local foster children.
She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Manzi.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Peters Church in Monticello on Saturday, June 3 with the Reverend Robert Ginel officiating.
Interment is in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel.
HENRY MCCORD
BEACH LAKE, PA Henry McCord, a resident of Beach Lake, died at Wayne Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 2, 2006. He was 83.
The son of the late Chester and Loretta Keesler McCord, he was born on May 20, 1923 in Peekskill, NY.
McCord was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in several battles in Belgium, France and Germany. He was in the Battle of Normandy. He worked for New York City Water Recourses at Kensico for 25 years before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances LaBelle McCord of Beach Lake; a daughter, Ruth Simpson of Long Branch, NJ; two sons, Ronald McCord of LaGrangeville, NY and Chester E. McCord of Mohegan Lake, NY; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Chester McCord of Houlton, MA; one sister, Marie Bochan of Shrub Oak, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Dean Simpson Sr.
Graveside services were held at Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst on June 5, 2006.
