Wanted: fish stories

CATSKILL WATERSHED — The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is inviting those who fish on New York City water supply lands to submit photos and information about fish they have caught. Photos will be posted on a new section of the DEP website, www.nyc.gov/dep, called “Fish Tales.”

Holders of access permits should email photos in which they show their best catch to FishTales@dep.nyc.gov. Submissions should include the name and hometown of the fisherman, the type of fish and its dimensions, and the date, time and location of the catch. Other information such as the type of lure used and any interesting anecdotes about the catch are also welcome.

Fish Tales can also be mailed to Fish Tales, NYC-DEP Public Affairs, 59-17 Junction Boulevard 19th Floor, Flushing, NY 11373.

Access permits to fish on New York City water supply lands are issued for five years and are sent to applicants through the mail. Applications are on the Web at nyc.gov/watershedrecreation and at DEP offices in the city and throughout the watershed. For more information call 800/575-LAND.
