Auction to support art and reading at Sullivan West

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — The Sullivan West Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) will hold a silent auction in support of the Sullivan West Elementary School’s Library and Arts Department from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29 in the school cafeteria. There will be hors d’oeuvres and live music in addition to the auction.

Community businesses and artists located in the Sullivan West district have donated a fabulous array of more than 50 items for the auction including artwork such as books, photography, pottery, paintings, and handmade jewelry from artist such as Joe Freda, Joan Glase, Jill Weiner and Steven Eliades. Services donated include a body massage, house cleaning and newspaper subscriptions. There are also many gift certificates to area stores, restaurants and recreational facilities including the Secret Garden, Kizmet/Nicolina’s, the Resort Restaurant, Matthew’s on Main and Lander’s Canoe Trips.

All proceeds will support special projects or materials otherwise not available to the school library or arts department. Bidding begins at 5:00 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. It is not necessary to be present during the entire event.
