ERNEST W. ALLEN JR
SPARROWBUSH, NY Ernest W. Allen Jr., a resident of Sparrowbush and an area resident for many years, died Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 53.
The son of Jane Jannaroe Allen and the late Ernest W. Allen Sr., he was born December 28, 1952 in Fort Monmouth, NJ.
Allen worked as a machine operator at C & D Technology. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Jervis and the Sparrowbush Volunteer Fire Department.
A family statement read: Ernie was an avid camper and enjoyed talking to friends while sitting on his stool at the Port Jervis Diner.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Nording Allen, at home; three sons, Tracey Allen of Independence, WI, Lucas Allen of Charlotte, NC, Cody Allen of Dingmans Ferry; a step-son, Jason E. Gray of Hagerstown, MD, a step-daughter, Tanya McGrath of Wallkill; his mother, Jane Allen of Port Jervis; three brothers, Michael and Randy of Port Jervis and John of Sparrowbush; a sister, Nancy Dunn of Nescopeck, PA; eight grandchildren; his dogs, Bruiser and Tanner; and several nieces and nephews, including Little Buddy John-John.
Fire Department services were held on Sunday at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home. Funeral services followed on Monday, Feb. 20 with the Reverend Stephen Huston officiating.
Interment will be at Rural Valley Cemetery in Cuddebackville.

CHARLES E. FAHY
WESTBROOKVILLE, NY Charles E. Fahy, a resident of Westbrookville for many years, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 71.
The son of the late Edward P. and Maude Cox Fahy, he was born March 19, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY.
Fahy was a retired construction worker and an Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Coda Fahy, who died December 9, 2000.
Fahy is survived by a sister, Anne Crawbuck and her husband Fowler of Fort Lee, NJ; a brother-in-law, Vincent Coda and his wife Amy of Sparrowbush; a fiancee, Fran Brennan of Sparrowbush; a niece, Valerie Katz of Riverdale; and two nephews, William and John Coda, both of Sparrowbush.
Services were held on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the funeral home with the Reverend Jeanne Hendricks officiating. Interment is at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sparrowbush.

NANCY ANN FREIERMUTH
GLOUCESTER, VA Nancy Ann Freiermuth, a resident of Gloucester, died Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Sentara Hampton General Hospital. She was 67.
Freiermuth was the daughter of the late Samuel and Johanna Wolfe Sr.
She worked as a private duty nurses aide.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Smith; and a brother, David Wolfe.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert C. Freiermuth; four daughters, Peggie Ann Keller, Robin L. Williams, Cindy L. Neal and Georgette Freiermuth; two sons, Bobby W. Freiermuth and James F. Freiermuth; three brothers, Samuel Wolfe Jr., Dennis Wolfe and George Wolfe; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth C. Dennis; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted by the Reverend Timothy B. Kirby, Sr. at the Chapel of Hogg Funeral Home in Gloucester Point on February 24.

LEOTA S. LEE HERMANN
CALLICOON, NY Leota S. Lee Hermann, an area resident since 1944, died Monday, March 6, 2006 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. She was 78.
The daughter of the late Harold E. and Mary Cargin Deighton, she was born June 10, 1927 in Stalker, PA.
Hermann worked as a typesetter at the Sullivan County Democrat. She was a member of the Callicoon United Methodist Church; a charter member of H. Russell Kenyon Post No. 5808 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary; a member of the Grover M. Hermann Hospital Auxiliary; a life-member of the New York State Parent Teachers Congress; a past president and member of St. Tammany Chapter No. 492 Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Delaware Senior Citizens; and a member of the Town of Delaware Bicentennial Committee.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul W. Hermann and a daughter, Barbra Sims.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra and her husband Arthur Flynn of Callicoon, Rhonda Sullivan and her companion Robert Boone of Westlake, LA, Debra and Earl Bright of Gainesville, GA, and Bryan Sims of Swan Lake; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two aunts; one uncle; several cousins; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Eileen Hermann of Callicoon; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Friday, March 10, 2006 at the Callicoon United Methodist Church with Pastor Peg Van Siclen officiating.
Interment will be in the Callicoon Cemetery in Callicoon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Callicoon United Methodist Church, the Delaware Youth Center or the charity of ones choice.
WILLIAM H. LORD
HONESDALE, PA William H. Lord, a resident of Honesdale, died Friday, March 10, 2006 at Marian Community Hospital in Carbondale. He was 68.
The son of the late Myron H. and Purmellia Conklin Lord, he was born August 3, 1937 in Hancock, NY.
Lord worked as a taxi driver for Maple City Transit before retiring.
He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Mulligan and her husband John of Honesdale, Tamsen Holbert and her husband Craig of Beach Lake, and Brenda Lee and her husband Cliff of Pleasant Mount; a brother, Russell Lord of Honesdale; sisters Estella Jennings and Evelyn Hanson, both of Honesdale, Ella Mills of Boyds Mills, Ruth Blaine and Gladys Enslin of Waymart; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Sandra Bishop, who died December 31, 2003; his brothers Ernest, Elvin, and Robert; and his sisters Eleanor and Ethel.
As per his request, cremation will be held at Maple Hill Crematory in Archbald.
A private memorial services will be held at the familys convenience.
CATHERINE M. KAY SMITH
SPARROWBUSH, NY Catherine M. Kay Smith, a resident of Sparrowbush, peacefully passed away on March 12, 2006 in Milford Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center in Milford, PA after a short illness. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Peter and Eva Lawrow, she was born January 31, 1919 in Port Jervis.
Smith was a graduate of Port Jervis High School where she was the captain of the womens basketball team. She was a lifelong member of Saint Marys Church.
A family statement said: She had many friends in Port Jervis and greatly enjoyed attending area bingos with them or meeting them for lunch and coffee at Homers.
Smith is survived by her sons, Raymond J. Smith Jr. of West Rupert, VT and Joseph J. Smith of Charlotte, NC; she was a grandmother to Christopher R. Smith of Rigefield, CT and Michael Smith of Charlotte, NC; she was Aunt Kay to her niece Mary Rimlinger of Port Jervis, who was like a daughter to her as well as her best friend. During these last months Mary was a constant comfort during her daily visits.
Smith was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Raymond J. Smith; her brother, John Doc Lawrow; and her sister, Natalie Rimlinger.
The family would like to express special thanks to those who were there for Smith during her final illness, including Dr. Gopal Shaha and the administrative and nursing staff of Milford Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center. All were compassionate and caring.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 with Mass of Resurrection at St. Marys R.C. Church in Port Jervis with the Reverend Denis Dinan officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Cemetery in Port Jervis.
Memorial contributions may be made in Smiths memory to the charity of ones choice.
GAROLD GARY SPITLER
PORT JERVIS, NY Garold Gary Spitler, a resident of Port Jervis and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, March 10, 2006 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. He was 58.
The son of the late Benjamin and Sarah P. Kreitzer Spitler, he was born January 21, 1948 in Dayton, OH.
Spitler worked at the housekeeping department of Mercy Community Hospital and maintenance at St. Marys Cemetery until his retirement.
He is survived by his former wife, Joanne Neenan Spitler; three daughters, Marie Spitler of Sparrowbush, Kathleen Stacy and her husband Kurt of Burke, and Sara Spitler of Port Jervis; one sister, Sandy Weaver and her husband Robert of South Dayton, OH; 11 grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be private in Dayton, OH.
