Lackawanna Blues at Cabin Fever Festival
MONTICELLO, NY Monticellos Cabin Fever Festival will feature Lackawanna Blues this week, a film starring S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order) in a story, based on the life of writer/actor Ruben Santiago-Hudson, that takes place in Lackawanna, NY across a span of years as segregation loses its grip. The cast includes Mos Def, Louis Gossett Jr., Terrence Dashon Howard, Delroy Lindo, Rosie Perez and Jimmy Smits.
The free screening will be at 7:00 p.m. on March 14 at the BOCES auditorium off Broadway on St. John Street. The film is appropriate for teens through adults and will be shown with Spanish subtitles. After the screening, the audience is invited to stay for a discussion.
The 2006 Monticello Cabin Fever Film Festival will screen films every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. through March 30. Remaining films in the series include The Motorcycle Diaries and Rize.
