A special place

One of the least visited “Riverside Drives” in the east is one of my favorite places—partly because it fits gently into the landscape, and partly for the easy commerce I’ve observed between its wild creatures and friendly residents. And in part because it’s accessible from White Mills when I leave my car for servicing at Watson’s garage.

Garden internship available at Grey Towers

MILFORD, PA—Applications are now being accepted for the 2006 garden internship program at Grey Towers National Historic Site, Milford, PA. The deadline is April 10.

The internship provides a valuable, practical experience for a motivated undergraduate college student or recently graduated high school student. It provides hands-on experience to challenge and broaden the student’s knowledge of practical applications of horticultural theory learned in the classroom. Successful internship candidates receive a $2,500 stipend and housing at Grey Towers for the 12-week program.
