Shadowland Theatre to hold acting classes
ELLENVILLE, NY Shadowland Theatre, the professional nonprofit Actors Equity company, will hold teen and adult acting classes starting on Monday, March 13, and Tuesday, March 14 respectively, and run eight weeks. Classes will be held at Shadowland Theatre at 157 Canal Street.
Teen classes will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. every Monday except April 10, and end May 8. They will be taught by Alyssa Tullin, associate managing director at Shadowland, and will feature classical and modern techniques, including Spolin, Meisner and the Method. No previous acting experience is required. Tuition costs $125.
Adult classes will be held from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and finish May 2. They will be held under the direction of Shadowlands producing artistic director, Brendan Burke. Classes will consist of scene studies and Meisner-based techniques. Enrollment is open to all levels of acting experience. Tuition costs $150.
Shadowland was named Best Theatre 2004 in the Best of the Valley award program, covering 10 counties from Albany to Westchester by Hudson Valley Magazine. Founded in 1984, Shadowland performs in a restored 1920s Art Deco vaudeville/movie house converted to a 148-seat theatre.
