Milford artist’s works grace Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, NY — Elisa Ferracane, a noted glass artist of Milford, PA, has recently completed a series of glass etchings that decorate the transom windows of Staten Island’s Borough Hall. The windows were a large part of the renovation project begun six years ago by members of the Borough Hall Centennial Restoration Corp.

Staten Island officials have awarded her a commission for three more windows. One of these windows will be of the Borough Hall building itself, commemorating its centennial in May.

Ferracane is also currently engaged in carving a 3,500-pound bluestone sculpture for the American Parkinsons Disease Association in Staten Island.

Locally, Ferracane’s works in glass are on display in the Artery Gallery, where she is an active member. The Artery Gallery is located in the Forest Hall Building at the stoplight in Milford, PA. The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Monday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
