A new Delaware board member is sworn in

HORTONVILLE, NY — Kara McElroy is a new Town of Delaware councilwoman. She was selected and sworn in by town supervisor Jim Scheutzow at the board’s reorganization meeting on January 18.

McElroy will serve out the term of Scheutzow, who vacated his board seat to successfully run for town supervisor. When Scheutzow was elected to the supervisor’s position, his board seat became vacant.

The board also appointed Howard Fuchs to the position of building inspector/code enforcement officer to replace Bill Buckmaster, who resigned, and replaced town planning board member Charles Hornicek with Heather Guinan-Clark.
