‘Personal Velocity’ to be shown at Crawford

MONTICELLO, NY — Rebecca Miller’s film “Personal Velocity,” will be shown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26 at Crawford Public Library in Monticello. It is the fourth showing in the library’s Winter Film Festival, a series of high-quality but relatively unknown films.

Miller has made a film out of three of her own short stories that depict moments of self-discovery for three women. It tells three seemingly unconnected stories about very different women, each of them afflicted in a different way. Although there is a connecting thread, it is the variety of their lives and experiences that is at the core of the film.

As usual, the screening will be introduced by Jack Hirschfeld, who will also facilitate a discussion afterward.

The series continues on February 9 with “Brother from Another Planet” and on February 23 with “Down By Law.”
