Anthony is fourth at Yale in high jump

Eldred and Tri-Valley make their presence felt at Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, CT — Eldred’s Kyle Anthony took fourth place at the Yale Invitational on January 21 with a leap of 21:03.50. The girls 4x200 relay team of Christina Watts, Rachael Duran, Randi Leek and Jamie Schombs broke an Eldred school record with their time of 2:05.7. Watts, Duran, Annie Babula and Ashley Tice broke a school record in the 4x400 with a time of 5:03.5.

In the 4x400 relay for schools with fewer than 400 students, Tri-Valley took first with a time of 3:44.31. The relay team was comprised of Max Fiedler, Sean Messenger, Josh Mattingly and John Huppke. Eldred took second place with a time of 3:45.8. Eldred’s team consisted of Tyler Laput, Nick Gottlieb, Kevin Prunka and Kyle Anthony.

Tri-Valley’s Courtney Roosa took 30th place in the girls’ 3000 with a time of 10:59.68. Rachel Sanborn placed 53rd with a time of 11:23.27.

In the girls 4x400 (small schools), Tri-Valley’s Laurenne Walsh, Danielle Huppke, Shannon Hornbeck and Meghan Drown took 18th place with a time of 4:57.75. Tri-Valley’s boys distance medley relay finished eighth with a time of 11:25.04. The team was made up of Huppke, Messenger, Fiedler and Nick Denman.

In the boys 55-meter hurdles, Eldred’s Tyler Laput finished eighth in the preliminary heat with 8.24, but hit a hurdle in the finals and finished 22nd with a time of 8.75.
