MASON AARON ROSELLO

LONG EDDY, NY — Mason Aaron Rosello, a lifelong resident, died Friday, December 16, 2005 in Callicoon. He was 17.

The son of John and Anna Marie Andersen Rosello, he was born October 14, 1988 in Buffalo.

Rosello was a senior at Sullivan West High School. He was a member of the National Honor Society, the senior high chorus and men’s choir, drama club, SCIL and Countdown, 4H Catskill Clovers Club and an avid hunter and outdoorsman.

He is survived by his parents, John and Anna Marie Andersen Rosello; his twin brother, J.P. Rosello; his maternal grandparents, Irene and August Andersen of Long Eddy; his paternal grandparents, Cecili and Ralph Rosello of Silver Springs, MD; his aunts and uncles, Peter and Patti Andersen of Long Eddy, Amy and Maurice Kelsey of Canastota, and Ralph Rosello of Silver Springs, MD; and his cousins, Jenny and Jon Mills, Julie Kelsey, Justine Kelsey, Jason Kelsey and Megan Andersen.

Services were held Wednesday, December 21 at the Holy Cross Church in Callicoon with Father Ignatius Smith, OFM officiating.

Interment will be in Rock Valley Cemetery in Long Eddy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware County Cornell Cooperative Extension 4H Youth Program in Hamden.


RUTH MAE (KENNEDY) ROSENCRANCE

GREELEY, PA — Ruth Mae (Kennedy) Rosencrance died Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Twin Cedars Assisted Living Center in Shohola. She was 90.

The daughter of the late Archie and Edith Watts Kennedy, she was born in Aldenville.

Rosencrance was a retired postmaster of the Greeley Post Office. She was a Lutheran.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, John Albert Rosencrance, who died in 1997.

She is survived by her son, Larry of Jeffersonville, NY; her granddaughters, Jennifer and Janice; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Wednesday, December 231, 2005 at Teeter’s East Chapel with the Reverend Patrick Marshall officiating.

Interment is at McKean Valley Cemetery in Shohola Twp.

EDITH PATRICIA (MECHLER) SABATINI

GREENTOWN, PA — Edith Patricia (Mechler) Sabatini, a 20-year resident of Greentown, died at home following an illness on December 13, 2005. She was 75.

The daughter of the late Curt and Elsa Krueger Mechler, she was born in Queens, NY.

Sabatini was a graduate of Suffolk Co. Community College. She worked as a nurse at St. Charles Hospital in New York until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Hawley United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Joseph Sabatini in 2001.

Sabatini is survived by two daughters, Karen Evans of Newport News, VA and Susan Hauk of East Northport, NY; two sons, Stephen of East Newport, NY and Joseph of Eustis, FL; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Saturday, December 17 at the Hawley United Methodist Church with the Reverend Martin L. Cox, Jr. officiating.

Interment is in Pine Grove Cemetery in Paupack, PA.


KATHLEEN ANN SANFORD

GREELEY, PA — Kathleen Ann Sanford, a resident of Greeley, died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at home.

The daughter of Josephine (Flatt) Sanford and the late Frank Sanford, she was born October 6, 1952 in Dover, NJ.

She is survived by her mother, Josephine Sanford of Greeley; a son, Michael of La Mesa, CA; three sisters, Jacqueline King of Dillon, SC, Jane Harris of Greeley, and Bernice Figard of Maldon, NJ; two brothers, George Sanford and Frank Sanford of Greeley; and two grandchildren, Britany and Toby.

At the convenience of the family, final interment will take place in German Hill Cemetery in Shohola.


THELMA SIGNE (SOLVERSEN) SAAF

ROWLAND, PA — Thelma Signe (Solversen) Saaf, a former resident of Langford, SD and New York City, died at home following an illness on December 7, 2005. She was 81.

The daughter of the late Sigve Harold Solversen and Marie Snorteland Solversen, she was born in Langford, SD.

Saaf was a former seamstress for Sherman Mills and a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Rowland.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arthur H. Saaf of Rowland; a son, Jeffrey of Rowland; a daughter, Marla Krochta of Rowland; a sister, Marguerite Blomstrand of Riverdale, NJ; a brother, Myron Solversen of San Leandro, CA; and four grandchildren, Tia, Mason, Benjamin and Stephen.

She was predeceased by a brother, Bertil Solversen.

Services were held on Saturday, December 10 at the Bethel Lutheran Church.

The cremation is private. Interment will be at the Rowland Cemetery.


GEORGE SEMENETZ

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — George Semenetz, a resident of Jeffersonville and Flushing, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at Booth Memorial Hospital in Flushing. He was 81.

The son of the late Joseph and Mary Semenetz, he was born in Brooklyn on August 28, 1924. He was a naval veteran during WW II, stationed in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Semenetz was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Semenetz.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Semenetz at home; three sons, George and his wife Blyth of West Windsor, NJ, Gary and his wife Lynn of Whitestone, and Gregg and his wife Bridget of Jeffersonville; a step-daughter, Maria Dufresne of Pomona; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Andrew Avellino RC Church on Saturday, December 17.


NORA M. VANDERMARK

PORT JERVIS, NY — Nora M. Vandermark, a resident of Port Jervis and a lifetime area resident, died Friday, December 16, 2005 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. She was 62.

The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William James, she was born February 14, 1943 in Long Eddy.

Vandermark was a retired sewing machine operator at Jo-Jo’s Manufacturing in Port Jervis. She was a member of the Zephyr Antique Car Club and the Orange County Harley Owners Club.

She is survived by her son, Joseph E. Vandermark III and his wife Alice of Port Jervis; a daughter, Penny McGraw and her husband Walter of Colorado Springs, CO., a brother, Robert “Billy” James; two sisters, Barbara Dugan of the state of Florida and Mildred Olden of Port Jervis; a sister-in-law, Debbie James of Sparrowbush; six grandchildren, Walter Jr., Brittany, Randy, Allyson, Heather and Carrie; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph E. Vandermark Jr., who died June 16, 2004; two brothers, Ted and Elmer James; and four sisters, Isabelle Ward, Marie Gray, Mable Strong and Beatrice Jennings.

Services were held on Monday, December 19 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home with the Reverend Joseph Iannone officiating.

Cremation will be held at H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg, PA.

FREDERICK F. WELLS, JR

SHOHOLA, PA — Frederick F. Wells, Jr., a resident of Shohola, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2005 at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton. He was 84.

The son of the late Frederick F. and Ellen (Harvey) Wells, he was born on April 28, 1921 in Neptune, NJ.

Wells was a retired truck driver for Central Montor Lines in Passaic, NJ. He was the past commander and service officer for 30 years for the American Legion Post #8, Clifton, NJ. He was a US Navy WW II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Grace (LoPinto) Wells; two sons, Frederick F. Wells, III of Fenton, and Benjamin Wells of Shohola; a brother, Thomas Wells of Florida; and four grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.


ORVILLE H. WHITMORE

DAMASCUS, PA — Orville H. Whitmore, a life long resident of Damascus, passed away quietly at Ellen Memorial Health Center in Honesdale on Saturday, December 11, 2005. He was 87.

The son of Thomas and Bessie Welsh Whitmore, he was born November 22, 1918 in Damascus.

Whitmore was a retired dairy farmer. He was married to the former Elva Baldwin for 47 years, who was lost when their home burned in January 1986.

He is survived by his children, Shirley and Ed Spaulding of Largo, FL, Beverly and Lester Hillriegel of Damascus with whom he resided, and Arthur and Kay Whitmore of Damascus; and his daughter-in-law, Linda Whitmore, also of Damascus.

He was predeceased by his oldest son, Vernon, November 1992.

“Pop” is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and a brother, Vincent and his wife Vesta Whitmore of Tampa, FL.

Services were held on Wednesday, December 14 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home with the Reverend Mary Bryant officiating.

Interment is in Conklin Hill Cemetery in Damascus.
