Combine gallery browsing with holiday shopping at the DVAA

NARROWSBURG, NY — Paintings, drawings, collage and sculpture by over three dozen area artists will be highlighted in Delaware Valley Arts Alliance’s “Art in Sixes” exhibition opening Saturday, November 12. A “meet the artists” reception with food, wine and live music will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As the title suggests, “Art in Sixes” is comprised of works that are no larger than six inches in any direction.

The show will run concurrently with the Arts Alliance’s annual Valley Artists Holiday Sale, which opens at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12 at the Delaware Arts Center on Main Street.

Signature Gifts, the gift shop that opened last March, and the Loft Gallery will serve as the primary sales space for the holiday show items. As in the past, high-quality crafts and art as well as books by local authors, CDs and DVDs will be on sale.

The Valley Artists Holiday Sale offers unique gifts in all media, including clay, fiber, oil, metal, leather and paper, as well as selected antiques and publications by local writers.

Local artists and artisans represented will include potters Carolyn Duke and Jill Weiner, jewelry makers Darlene Clark and Viginia Kassay-Fritz, woodworkers Hank Schneider and John Perrella and many others.

In addition to the artists reception, special events on November 12 will include free gift wrapping and a door-prize drawing. Other special events during the six-week show will include a book nook in which to browse and relax, music events and readings.

Following the November 12 opening, the gallery and Signature Gifts will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through December 22.
