Combine gallery browsing with holiday shopping at the DVAA

NARROWSBURG, NY—Paintings, drawings, collage and sculpture by over three dozen area artists will be highlighted in Delaware Valley Arts Alliance’s “Art in Sixes” exhibition opening Saturday, November 12. A “meet the artists” reception with food, wine and live music will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As the title suggests, “Art in Sixes” is comprised of works that are no larger than six inches in any direction.

The show will run concurrently with the Arts Alliance’s annual Valley Artists Holiday Sale, which opens at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12 at the Delaware Arts Center on Main Street.

50 Cent film attempts profundity, dies trying

The primary aim of any film that portrays a harsh life on the street is that its characters must engage in a life normally considered socially and morally reprehensible (usually drug dealing), simply because this is the only life they know, and the only life that can bring them what they desire. At first glance a film simply titled “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” would appear to understand this basic dynamic and, for a while, it does.

Sullivan troupe invited to state festival

Benefit performance of ‘Veronica’s Room’ to fund trip to Auburn

SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY—The successful 2005 season of the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop (SCDW) will be crowned by a performance of “Veronica’s Room,” on Friday, November 18 in Auburn, NY, as part of the 46th Annual Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) festival. The play is one of only seven chosen from all over the state for this honor.
