Three decades chronicling the river valley
NARROWSBURG, NY The River Reporter will throw a party from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight on Saturday, October 15 at The Eldred Preserve on Route 55 in Eldred. The party will mark The River Reporters 30th year chronicling the affairs of the Upper Delaware River Valley.
The party is not just a celebration of the paper but of the communities who have provided the stories, the readership, the criticism and the inspiration that have made us the leading news source for the river valley for the past three decades. Recognizing that our accomplishments are possible only because we are, in Isaac Newtons phrase, standing on the shoulders of giants, the staff is also honoring the generations of employees who have preceded them and who have worked over the years to create the foundation that has made todays award-winning weekly possible.
The party, which will feature music with DJ Joey C, a cash bar, a fabulous birthday cake and dessert table, is free and open to all.

| Volume 20, issue number 3, January 20, 1997. By this time the paper had become a weekly, and adopted a logo in the upper left-hand corner depicting Kunkelis Hill on the southern border of Tusten, drawn by David Hulse. The logo was used until September 4, 1997, when it was replaced with the bridges flag created by Jill Padua. Hulse was with the paper from 1982 until June 30, 2005. Musical chairs was a major story that was later represented in a biting satire in The River Distorter, that ended up in libel court. It was found that satire is a protected form of speech.
