Eldred’s quest advances with first league win

AMENIA, NY—In the twilight of a career of manning the sidelines for over three decades, Eldred’s football coach Frank Kean finds himself in the midst of a wonderful dream. In it he envisions himself standing on the sidelines at Dietz Stadium with his team playing for a sectional title. Over recent years, Kean has coached teams that had the potential to convert that dream into a reality, but unfortunately each time something happened to burst the bubble, delaying the champion quest for another year.

Bears even record with mauling of Onteora

Heads-up play by Knox leads to key scores via interceptions

ONTEORA, NY—After suffering a brutal loss to Chester last week, Tri-Valley looked to rebound and turn the page. The Bears came into week four needing a win to get their momentum going as it traveled to Class A Onteora on September 24.

For its part, Onteora was reeling from troubles of its own. Hampered by the recent dismissal of head coach Lou Quick, the Indians entered this fray winless. Class C Tri-Valley came in at 1-2. Clearly, both teams desperately needed to right the ship.
