Clarification

Last week we published a photo of the deteriorating railroad ties on the Number 9 interstate bridge, following which Central New York Railroad Corporation CEO and President Walter Rich called The River Reporter to point out that the side of the bridge in the picture has not been used by trains since the 1970s. The ties under the bridge’s active single-track line are in better condition, as evidenced by the photo to the right.

Correction

The Upper Delaware Scenic Byway was designated as a component of the New York State Scenic Byways System in 2002.
