Jazzin’ it up at the Tusten Theatre

NARROWSBURG, NY — Hal Galper, internationally known jazz pianist, composer, music educator and author, brings his jazz quartet to Narrowsburg on October 8 at 8:00 p.m. to open the 2005 Tusten Theatre Fall Season.

With over 82 recordings to his credit, Hal Galper is best known for his work with Chet Baker, Cannonball Adderly, John Scofield and the Phil Woods Quintet. He has won multiple awards, including a Grammy nomination and a Grammy for his recordings with the award-winning Phil Woods Quartet and Quintet.

Galper will share the stage with Sam Morrison, saxophone; Bob Kopec, bass; and Adam Nuessbaum, drums.

Other events in Tusten theatre’s Fall season include the Delaware Valley Chamber Orchestra presenting “Music of Our Time,” a showcase for area composers on Saturday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m.; andBroadway Direct presenting Broadway greats Cris Groenendaal and Sarah Rice on November 19, at 7:30 p.m. Groenendaal’s credits include “Phantom of the Opera,” “Sweeney Todd” and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.” Rice’s credits include “Sweeney Todd,” “The Fantasticks” and “The Music Man.”

Ticket prices are $12 ($11 for seniors) for October 8 and 22 and $15 for November 19. Tusten Theatre Fall Season series of three events is $ 35. DVAA members get an extra dollar off on prepaid tickets.
