IVA FRANCES FOSTER
KAUNEONGA LAKE, NY Iva Frances Foster, a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 90.
The daughter of William and Harriet Classen Eldridge, she was born August 17, 1915 in Forestine (Black Lake), NY.
A family statement said: Gods purpose for Moms life was to be an exceptional mother and grandmother. Throughout her life all 60 of her offspring have been blessed by her quiet, gentle love. We know God welcomed her home with these words, Well done good and faithful servant.
Foster is survived by her five sons, Douglas and his wife Dorothy of Narrowsburg, John Jack and his wife Margie of Kauneonga Lake, Charles and his wife Lee of White Lake, Kenneth and his companion Norma of Ashville, NC and Donald and his wife Fran of Bethel; two daughters, Evelyn LaPolt and her husband Sonny of Smallwood and Linda Blais and her husband Bob of Bethel; 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Herbert Foster; a daughter, Frances DeFazio; a son, Arthur; a grandson, Shawn Tyler; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 8 at the Ramsay Funeral Home in Kauneonga Lake with her pastor, the Reverend David McCarthy of the Liberty Free Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel, NY.

RICHARD J. DICK KNACK
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, NY Richard J. Dick Knack, a resident of White Sulphur Springs and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at home. He was 72.
The son of the late Raymond and Julia Schaefer Knack, he was born August 2, 1933 in Hortonville, NY.
Knack was a retired employee of the New York Telephone Company and a member of the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church where he was a former lay reader and served on various committees. He was a member of the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department for about 35 years where he was a former secretary and engineer. He also volunteered in the maintenance of the Old White Sulphur Springs Cemetery. He worked for 36 years at the telephone company and retired in 1991 as a switchman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty L. Smith Knack at home; two daughters, Shirley Dole and her husband Larry of Neversink and Kelly Heintz and her husband Larry of Monticello; one son, Forrest J. Knack and his companion Margie Quinlass of Narrowsburg; one brother, Thomas R. Knack and his wife Audrey of Naples, FL; four grandchildren, Jason Dole, Brian and Kevin Knack and Julia Dole.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Mikel Daubek.
Firematic Services were held on Friday, September 2 at the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department.
Funeral services were held on September 3 at the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church with the Reverend Bridgette LeConey officiating.
Interment with military honors was in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs.

RICHARD LEE OSBORNE
CHERRY RIDGE, PA Richard Lee Osborne, a resident of Cherry Ridge, died Monday, August 29, 2005 at the Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness.
The son of Jack and Phyllis Luisi Osborne, he was born on August 21, 1948 in Elmira, NY.
Osborne was the former owner and operator of a landscaping business until he became ill. He was a long-standing member of the National Hot Rod Association in which he competitively raced drag cars. He had a talent for rebuilding race engines and restoring classic cars.
A family statement said: He will be most remembered for his great love of his wife, children and his goodness which touched the lives of so many.
He is survived by his wife, the former Julie Racht; a son, Richard Jr. and his wife Debra of Hawley; a daughter, Carmela Fox and her husband Bryce of Cherry Ridge; a stepdaughter, Bianca Davis of Honesdale; a stepson Jeffrey Legg, a member of the US Army stationed in Germany and his wife Anastacia; six grandchildren, Richard III, Courtney, Chloe, Kira, Draven and George; two brothers, John Osborne and his wife Joan of Corning, NY and Robert Osborne and his wife Karen of Elmira, NY; a sister, Marilyn Amrhein of Elmira; and two nieces, Liza and Joy.
He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Jim Amrein, and a grandson, Caleb Fox.
Services were held on Friday, September 2 at the Hessling Funeral Home in Honesdale with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church.
Interment is in Darling Cemetery in Cherry Ridge.

RAYMOND J. SMITH
SPARROWBUSH, NY Raymond J. Smith, a resident of Sparrowbush, peacefully passed away on August 30, 2005 at Milford Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center in Milford, PA after a short illness.
He was born December 20, 1918 in New York, NY and moved to Pond Eddy at an early age. He greatly enjoyed hunting the mountains and fishing the Delaware River. In recent decades he spent many days on his beloved boat in the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River near Alexandra Bay. Prior to his retirement, many will remember him as the proprietor of Rays Deerpark on Pike Street in Port Jervis. During World War II he served as Sergeant in the Army in the Andennes, Central Europe, Rhineland campaigns with Company I, 260th Infantry Regiment 65th division. His decorations and citations included the American Service Medal, European Service Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Catherine M. (Lawrow) Smith; his sons to whom he was a loving father, Raymond Jr. of West Rupert, VT and Joseph of Charlotte, NC; and his grandchildren, Christopher R. Smith of Ridgefield, CT and Michael Smith of Charlotte, NC; an uncle; and a niece, Mary Rimlinger of Port Jervis, NY.
A family statement said: We would like to express special thanks to all those who were there for Ray during his final illness including the administrative and nursing staff of Milford Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center who were so compassionate and caring and to friends Don and Mary Ann Clune and particularly to Mary Rimlinger who was more of a daughter to him than a niece in recent years and was a great comfort.

MARIA NOELLE WHITE
CALLICOON, NY Maria Noelle White, a resident of Callicoon, died September 1, 2005 at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital, Newburg Campus, after admission there following an accident on I-84. She was 31.
The daughter of Rosemarie and Robert J. White of Callicoon, she was born December 17, 1973.
A graduate of St. Bonaventure University, she held several teaching and cheerleading coaching positions after graduation in 1995. She studied at Oxford University during her Junior Year Summer Honors Abroad Program.
White is survived by her sisters, Roberta Marie White of West Haven, CT, Regina Walton and her husband James and their four children, Megan, Morgan, Marla and Andrew of Cheshire, CT and Christina White and her fiancé Artie Carozza of Hopewell Junction; her brother, Robert Steven and his fiancée Jennifer Keegan of Schenectady; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, September 8, The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Callicoon with Father Ignatius Smith, OFM, whom on that day celebrates the 49th anniversary of his ordination into the Priesthood.
Interment will be at St. Marys Cemetery in Obernburg, NY following the Mass.
Masses in memory of Maria would be appreciated.
DOROTHY S. WINTERS
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL Dorothy S. Winters, a resident of New Smyrna Beach and Copake, NY, died Thursday, July 7, 2005 at the Hospice Care Home in New Smyrna Beach. She was 86.
The daughter of the late Carl H. and Edith Lindridge Schneider, she was born in Norwich, NY on January 8, 1919.
Winters worked as a schoolteacher until her retirement.
She is survived by her cousins, Lynn Keator and his wife Shelley of Cazenovia, NY, Marion Billrock and Harriet Mosher of Lake Huntington, NY and Arlene Sullivan and her husband Richard of Port Orange.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Allen Winters.
A graveside service will be held on September 11 at the Glen Cove Cemetery in Narrowsburg, NY, 1:00 p.m.
EDWARD J. WOLISKI
WAYMART, PA Edward J. Woliski, a resident of Waymart and a former resident of Hawley, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 in the VNA Hospice Unit of the Community Medical Center in Scranton following a courageous fight with cancer.
The son of the late Alexander and Mary Gerrity Woliski, he was born March 31, 1938 in Hawley.
Woliski attended Hawley High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was employed by the PA Game Commission for 13 years and later worked in construction with the PA Laborers Union #130 in Scranton for 25 years before retiring.
A family statement said: He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, but being with Genny and family were tops on his list. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend being loved by all and greatly missed.
He is survived his wife of 34 years, the former Genevieve Genny Stanton; a son, Michael and his wife Sue of Scranton; two daughters, Connie of Waymart and Cheryl and her husband Jack of Newfoundland; four sisters, Joan Savage, Mrs. Claude (Lillian) Seeley and Mrs. Ron (Shirley) Meling all of Tafton, and Pauline Meinzer of Hawley; two aunts, Dorothy Dudley and Leona Benjamin; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
As per his request, cremation will be at the Maple Hill at Salem Crematory in Archbald.
A celebration of his life was held on Thursday, September 1 at the Red Schoolhouse Restaurant in Pleasant Mount.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
