DORIS CRUZ
SPARROWBUSH, NY Doris Cruz, a resident of Sparrowbush, died Sunday, August 14, 2005 at her home. She was 86.
The daughter of the late Lorenzo Cruz and Justena Nunez Cruz, she was born August 2, 1919 in Puerto Rico.
Cruz was a retired machine operator for Diamond Luggage in Brooklyn.
She is survived by two daughters, Iris Strickland and her husband Robert of Manahawkin, NJ, and Camille Kempsey of Spring Valley; one sister, Theresa Irrizarry of Puerto Rico; her grandchildren, Doris Elliott and her husband Michael, Albert Hickey, Robert Hickey, Daniel Garden, Tracy and Lisa Colon, and Jennifer and Eddie Kempsey; a longtime friend, Patricia Rodriguez of Spring Valley; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Tuesday, August 16 at the Knight-Archmoody Funeral Home in Port Jervis followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Marys R.C. Church in Port Jervis with the Reverend Peter Susaimanickam officiating.
Interment is in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sparrowbush.

LILLIAN POTTER HENNESSEY
MATAMORAS, PA Lillian Potter Hennessey, a resident of Matamoras and a former resident of Napanoch and Ellenville, died August 15, 2005 in Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis. She was 90.
The daughter of Frederick and Emily Perry Lang, she was born August 12, 1915 in Clearfield, PA.
Hennessey worked as a wrapper for the Rondout Paper Mill in Napanoch.
She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Meyers of Hawley and Arlene Konig of North Babylon, IL; her son, Norman Potter of Charlotte, NC; her daughter-in-law, Howards widow, Evelyn Potter of Concord, NC; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the widow of Howard Potter and Thomas Hennessey. She was predeceased by two sons, Harold and Howard.
Services were held on Friday, August 19 at the Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY.
Interment is in The Poplar Grove Cemetery in Phillipsport.

YVONNE M. KICKUTH
COCHECTON, NY Yvonne M. Kickuth, a resident of Cochecton and a former resident of Maywood, NJ, died August 19, 2005 at her home. She was 74.
The daughter of Frederick and Marguerite Bleyers Carlsen, she was born January 8, 1931 in New York City.
Kickuth was a retired court administrator for the Maywood New Jersey Municipal Court.
She is survived by her husband, Harry C. Kickuth Jr. at home; her children, Yvonne B. of Cochecton, Curtis of Rochelle Park, NY, Michele of Hackensack, NJ and Harry C. III of Cochecton; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
WALTER McARDLE, JR
JEFFERSONVILLE, NY Walter McArdle, Jr., a resident of Jeffersonville and a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. He was 55.
The son of the late Walter and Elizabeth Hyde McArdle, he was born May 8, 1950 in New York City.
McArdle was a graduate of Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1979. He worked as a waiter at the Liberty Diner.
He is survived by a brother, Daniel and his wife Arleene McArdle of Jeffersonville; two nephews; a niece; and two grandnieces.
Services with military honors were held on August 23 at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty with Monsignor William Collins officiating.
PATRICIA K. RUBEL
COCHECTON, NY Patricia K. Rubel, a resident of Cochecton, died on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Ellen Memorial Nursing Home in Honesdale, PA. She was 72.
The daughter of the late William and Margaret Hess Welsh, she was born December 10, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY.
Rubel worked as a telephone operator for New York Telephone in Brooklyn, NY.
A family statement read: Patricia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edward Rubel at home; a son, James and his wife Gail; and two grandchildren, Christy and Daniel Rubel.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Neil, William, James, Henry and John Welsh.
Cremation took place at H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg, PA.
JUSTA M. TORRES
TAFTON, PA Justa M. Torres, a resident of Tafton, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. She was 76.
The daughter of the late Carmen Torres, she was born on April 14, 1929 in San German, Puerto Rico.
Torres worked as a seamstress. She was an active volunteer with the Senior Citizen and Roman Catholic Church groups while she lived in Puerto Rico.
She is survived by her daughter Martha Pastor and her husband Stephen of Tafton; her granddaughter Lorraine Bartleson and her husband Stephen of Hawley; her stepson, Joseph Betancourt of Puerto Rico.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, August 18 at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Hawley with the Reverend Richard W. Beck, pastor, officiating.
Interment is in Green Gates Cemetery in Hawley.

ELISABETH HOLMES WINTERS
WAYMART, PA Elisabeth Holmes Winters, a resident of Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart and a former resident of Monticello, NY, died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Thomasa and Anna Bolger Rielly, she was born August 22, 1917 in Vails Gate, NY.
Winters was a retired bookkeeper for the Sullivan County Treasurers office. She was married to the late Charles Winters.
She is survived by three children, Sally Martin of Yulan and her significant other, Paul of Pine Bush, NY, Thomas Holmes of Deland, FL and Stephen Holmes and his wife Susan of Deland; five grandchildren, Anne Marie Martin, Edwin Walter Martin, Walter Holmes, Thomas Holmes, and Mary Ellen Mitchell; and seven great grandchildren.
Services were held on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the funeral home in Barryville.
Interment will be in St. Stephens Cemetery in Warwick, NY.
