Chairs for charity

HURLEYVILLE, NY — Chairs for Charity, a project by Woodridge resident Eric Hansen, of Boy Scout Troop 98, is on display at the Sullivan County Museum Hurleyville Museum until August 21. Hansen began his project, “Chairs for Charity”, by gathering donated wooden chairs from various stores and people in the area. After collecting 60 chairs, he recruited 30 teenagers, his dad and a friend, to repair and clean the chairs. Eric then found 18 local artists who were willing to offer their skills to paint one or more chairs for his project, which is intended to benefit the PRASAD Children’s Dental Health Program.

PRASAD will conduct a silent auction from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday August 20 and from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on August 21 at the museum.
