A mix of old and new at the Wayne County Fair
HONESDALE, PA The 2005 Wayne County Fair is coming to the fairgrounds on Route 191 on August 5 through 13, mixing good old-fashioned attractions such as 4H exhibits, a horse pull and harness racing with more new-fangled events like a stunt-driving show, a motorcycle parade and a 4-wheel drive truck pull.
The festival will lead off at noon on Friday with the horse pull, free in the grandstand, followed by a woodsmans competition at 7:00 p.m. in which loggers test their skills at tree cutting. axe throwing, and other events. Throughout the nine days there will be daily performances of a circus, a pig race, and music and comedy shows. At 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6 at there will be one show only by Restless Heart, costing $15 for grandstand tickets and $18 for seats at the trackside. Wednesday night will feature fireworks over the grandstand at dusk.
