CinePark to screen ‘Being John Malkovich’

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — CinePark will present its fifth film of the 2005 summer season, “Being John Malkovich,” at dusk on Saturday, August 6. The off-beat film from 1999 was nominated for three academy awards and has an all-star cast including John Cusack, Cameron Diaz, Orson Beane and of course, John Malkovich.

“Being John Malkovich” is the fifth of seven movies that make up CinePark’s 7 Degrees of Separation film contest. Each film in this year’s series (“Big Fish,” “Tom Jones,” “Mary Poppins,” “Shrek 2,” “Being John Malkovich,” “Lost In Translation” and “Tootsie”) is connected to the next, and “Tootsie” connects back to the first. Watchers who come up with the connecting elements should bring their solutions to Hamish and Henry Booksellers. At the end of the season, winners will be eligible for a cinematic prize.

The audience is advised to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
