River dance, Indian style
CALLICOON, NY The Braman Arts Conservancy will present an outdoor evening of classical Indian dance at 7:00 p.m. on August 6 in Callicoon Creek Park. Sujata Nair Mulloth and the Kala School of Classical Dance will perform a style of dancing in which Mulloth was trained by Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan at Ganesha Natyalaya, and in Kuchipudi under Guru Jayarama Rao in New Delhi, India. She has held classes in Bharata Natyam in association with the Arts Council of Cambridgeshire, UK.
Mulloth has also performed at numerous cultural festivals including the Cultural Festival in Pyong Yang, North Korea, and in shows hosted by the president of India for the foreign dignitaries visiting that country.
In case of bad weather the performance will be moved to Braman Arts Conservatory on Main Street.
