Institute head focuses on spiritual wealth
By TOM KANE
HONESDALE, PA A key word in the lecture delivered by the Himalayan Institute Spiritual Head Pandit Rajmani Tigunait on July 9 was transformation.
We must achieve a transformation of our interior life that also matches the transformation we affect in our external life, Tigunait said. We must build a bridge between these two and be able to go back and forth, in and out.
Our inner transformation will result in a quiet and peaceful mind that will sustain our energy and be fiercely focused on what we must do in our external efforts to reach the world, he said.
Tigunait brought his national speaking tour to northeast Pennsylvania, where he delivered his address to devotees and friends of the Himalayan Institute at its newest location on Main Street in Honesdale. The tour has taken him to 60 U.S. cities this year.
The lecture filled one room of the Main Street location and spilled out into another room where a TV monitor carried his voice and image.
He observed that Americans today are searching for deeper meaning in their lives and that they have found that happiness does not depend on the accumulation of material wealth.
Realizing your inner prosperity not only creates contentment, happiness and inner peace, but also builds the foundation for greater success and security in the external world, he said.
The secret is to infuse your material world with your spiritual wealth, he said. Thats where your inner transformation will flow outward to your outer transformation in society.
Lifes experiences have removed my fear and doubt, he said. I no longer see a difference between the sacred and the mundane. Happiness has made me its friend. How this happened to me and how it can happen to others is what I wish to share in my lectures.
