CALLICOON, NY—American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) soccer is more popular than ever in Sullivan County. According to Jesse Ballew, the director of the county’s AYSO program, between 1,400 and 1,500 kids will be playing AYSO soccer this fall.

Even older kids are getting into the act. While AYSO soccer was previously limited to kids up through age 14, Sullivan County AYSO now has a U-19 team for 14- to 18-year-olds players. Ballew has already registered enough kids in this age group for two teams.
