Narrowsburg celebrates the 4th
NARROWSBURG, NY This river towns annual Independence Day parade kept crowds happy once again as fire departments from Narrowsburg, Lava, Beach Lake, Cochecton, Jeffersonville and as far away as Chenango, NY drove their sparkling trucks down Main Street on Sunday, July 3.
Coinciding with the parade, the Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce held its first July 4 street fair, which hosted about 25 vendors. Chamber Vice President Nancy Yoder said the street fair would be held again next year. The Narrowsburg Fire Department served almost 500 barbecue chicken dinners on Sunday afternoon and the fireworks at dusk were pronounced the best ever by the crowds that gathered along the interstate bridge and along the railroad tracks off Kirk Road.
