Photographer to lead tour of Bashakill by canoe

MAMAKATING, NY — Nature photographer Scott Graber will lead a trip through the Bashakill wetlands for canoe and kayak paddlers on Saturday, June 25.

The Bashakill Wildlife Management Area, consisting of more than 3,000 acres of wetlands and uplands, includes the largest freshwater wetlands in southeastern New York and provides a unique opportunity to view a variety of birds and aquatic life. The tour will begin at 10:30 a.m. and last approximately two and one-half hours. Bring water, a snack, sunscreen, insect repellant and field sunglasses. Park at the Department of Environmental Conservation launch area on South Road.
