Correction

ELDRED, NY — In our June 16 article “ECS prepares for budget revote,” information about the Sunshine Hall Library’s funding was incorrect. The school district currently provides a conduit for the collection of $8,000 funding for the library and that funding would be provided regardless of the outcome of the June 21 budget vote. Library funding is only broken out as a separate proposition if and when the library board seeks to increase the amount of that funding.

The 4.52 percent tax increase implied by the proposed budget does not include changes attributable to increases in property assessments. For properties whose assessments rise, the total tax bill would increase by that percentage in addition to the 4.52 percent projected rate increase.
